3d Tubes Permanent installation, what kind of computer

Post by MartinHessel »

Hello,
Iam working on a project with a 9x6 3d Tube Grid. In total there are 54 Tubes. Each Tube: 128 LEDs 64 pixels (2 LEDs as one pixel). At the end I need 27 Universes as I can use two Tubes for one universe. I would love to use Madrix for this project. My question is what specs the computer needs to keep this running for a permanent installation (24/7). Thanks for any advice. Martin

Hello MartinHessel ,
Welcome to the MADRIX forum.

In your special case I would recommend to use a PC with:
CPU: at least an "intel i5" of the newest generation with at least 3.5 GHz per core
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce GTX series like the "Geforce GTX 1060"
RAM: At least 8 GB fast RAM.
Of course you will need a motherboard wich works with the chosen components. Furthermore I would recommend to a SSD instead of an HDD.
