Don't light empty pixels in the preview window

Greetings,

My example might help explain. We have a customer who has an 81x83 grid. Of the 6723 positions only about 800 of them actually contain pixels. It's an artistic thing with the pixels placed somewhat at random. So I mapped the pixels into their right spots on the bigger grid.

When an effect runs the Madrix preview windows show all the pixel positions. The places where there is an actual pixel are bright, and the places where there is no pixel are dimmer. What I would really like is if the places with no pixels were black - more like the actual grid looks. Often effects that you think look good on the screen do not look good at all on the sparse grid because the missing pixels aren't there like on the Madrix preview window.

Thanks!

Mark

Hi Mark,

We have just released MADRIX V2.10 BETA. This is the test version for the upcoming MADRIX 2.10 version.

To activate this feature please use a right mouse-click on the Preview Output (the preview in the middle), go to "Patch Mask" in the context menu, and then select "Opaque".

What do you think?

Hello,

I just had a chance to try this in beta 2.10 and it works great! It gives a much more accurate feel of what a sparse matrix display will look like. Thanks very much for adding this feature!
