Mapping a map

Post by SteveAx »

Hi to all of you, a question t an expert...
Is ist possible to map a preconfigured map into another?
My problem ist the size of our screen, it's about 1600x100pixels.
I want to split this screen into 4 or 5 maps, that's no problem.
Into each of these maps I want to load a pre-setup of 3 smaller maps with for example 3 different videos or effects. As result I have 12 or 15 videos, each 3rd is the same.
Now the problem: I want to change one of the vidoes / effect in the pre-setup so that all of the 5 pre-setuped maps show now the new video.
Is this possible an if yes how?

Greetings from southern Germay :)

Hi SteveAx,

I understand that creating "maps", i.e. mapping effects to different areas is no problem for you.

And now you wish to duplicate maps, correct? There should be one source (Layer 1/Map 1) and all other maps should show the same video or effect.

There is a simple way to do this. And you can find it in the Map dialog, too.
It is called "Tile". Leave the Map and Rotate settings as they are. Only focus on the Tile section and use the Tile mode: Repeat. Now, change Size X and Offset X to create duplicates.

Since you are using an offset, you can easily fill the rest of the matrix with other maps.
